What To Wear On Your First Date To Look Extra Hot And Comfortable.

First dates don’t always have to be extravagant and borderline uncomfortable. If you’re both the type who enjoy being casual and having some fun beyond just the cinema or a dinner at some fancy restaurant, then this article is for you! Now, I’m not saying you should go on a first date wearing matching tracksuits, but having to walk around in 5-inch heels all day isn’t exactly ideal, either. So, here are some tips for what to wear on a casual first date!

1. A cute mini dress with a pair of sneakers.

Now, depending on the weather, I wouldn’t go with maxi dresses or skirts here as they can be just as uncomfortable as wearing heels! (At least for me, anyway.) So try to stick to dresses that aren’t too long (or too short!) and pair them with pretty much whatever you’re comfortable in; tights, jeggings, leggings etc.

As for shoes, well again, depending on the weather and your own personal style, anything from a pair of flat/mid-heeled ankle or knee-heigh boots to flat dolly shoes or even converse would work perfectly. You’ll feel comfortable but you will also look nicely put-together and feminine. Great choice for a picnic date.

2. Jeans and a nice top.

Ain’t no rocket science about this one. A pair of comfortable jeans and a pretty blouse, or a simple top and a blazer (I wouldn’t pair a blouse with a blazer here because that would look too formal and borderline tuxedo-ish). It’s simple, it’s chic and it still makes you look like you’ve put some effort in. Try pairing the lot with a pair of boots, ballet flats/dolly shoes or sandals – again, weather permitting, of course. An outfit like this would be perfect for a nice dinner out.

3. Shorts and a top.

This definitely screams summer! So if you live in the UK and shorts are your absolute favourite thing to wear, then I’m sorry, folks. You’ve still got another few months to wait.

I had to put this here, though. It’s so perfect for an ice cream out at the park or a touristy date. Again, a classy blouse or an elegant shirt of some sort combined with a pair of denim shorts and some cute sandals – et voila.

4.Trousers and blouse.

Slightly on the formal side, this is great for when you want to look a bit more made up than usual but still maintain that comfortable, casual feel.

High-wasted trousers or jeans paired with some comfortable platforms for extra height work perfectly for a romantic lunch or dinner date.

5. Denim skirt and blouse.

If it’s still a little cold where you’re at, then this is the casual first date outfit for you. It’s trendy, it’s comfy and it’s flowy!

6. Romper or jumpsuit.

Another easy-to-put-together outfit. You don’t have to stand for hours in front of your open wardrobe trying to decide what to pair with what. All you really need to worry about is the shoes you’ll wear and the handbag you’ll carry!

7. A Casual maxi dress.

If you’re the sort of person that likes to opt for more modest wear and you’re not going to be doing too much walking around, then this summer option is perfect for you – plus you won’t sacrifice femininity nor comfort!

8. Casual caftan.

Thought there was no such thing, didn’t you? Well, you’re wrong. If you’re a little outside the box in your nature and you want to go with something that’s a little bit exotic – go for it! It will show off your creative and cultural side, too. Which is always a plus on first dates! Wink

Moroccan in origin, caftans are usually very elaborate and are only worn at weddings and very special occasions. We’re going for casual here, so check out these modern, casual replicas that will be perfect for that date at the beach…

9. Tank top and trousers.

Cigarette trousers, high-waisted, palazzo – whatever style you’re going for, a simple tank top to go with it will make it a wearable but attractive combination when it comes to what to wear on a casual first date. When in doubt…go for the denim.

10. And finally…denim

Denim has become a staple as well as a life saver for every wardrobe! If you’re still unsure about your options, whether it be what trousers you’re going to wear or what jacket you should pick – go with the denim because denim is never unsafe. Sorted!
