Wherever you go this holiday season, these are things you should avoid when travelling:
1. Complicated Hairstyles
If travelling to a hot destination, avoid complicated styles that will trap heat and make it uncomfortable for you. You may begin to sweat on your scalp and be unable to do anything about it. This or really heavy hairstyles that weigh down the head or drip water continuously after swimming. Don’t be that person at dinner with your hair is still wet..5 hours later. Try Darling’s range of quick-drying braids!
2. Last-Minute Rush
Avoid getting your salon appointment at the last minute. During the holiday season, salons are characteristically full. Sometimes there’s usually a long line of people waiting to get their hair done. Doing your hair early enough means that if the stylist needs to fix for instance a loose thread, you can always go back. Doing your hair they day before you travel may mean inconveniences for you.
3. Avoid The Free Stuff
So you’ve made it. You’re at your hotel or accommodation. Avoid the free shampoo and conditioner. It’s usually cheap and very drying. Carry a few of your own hair products; only the essentials: A leave in conditioner and an oil are sufficient. No need to carry the whole cabinet! Hotel shampoo and conditioner may dry out your hair completely, or even worse…cause breakage. No sir. We don’t want that.
4. Don’t Wear Open Hair
Vacation is a time to relax and have fun. Not a time to go through the motions of performing your wash day routine as other people have fun. You can wear your hair open when travelling, by all means! But protective styling is advisable so that you can free up your time and energy for other things.
Which other things will you be avoiding?
