To begin with, I can’t believe the month is almost over. It’s just like September started yesterday and it’s about to end today. I think this year is running at a very fast pace. Well, This is your cue to try to improve the lives of those around you before the year ends.
It’s about 33 days to my birthday and I don’t want to think about it. As usual, I am not doing anything fun or going anywhere. I’m just going to stay home and think about my life. Or maybe read a book? I don’t know!
So, let’s dive into today’s post, shall we? What did I read this September? Did I read any interesting books? Are they books I have to recommend? Yes! This is my September book reviews and I hope you like it.
Honestly, I read a lot of books but they are old books. You may have read most of them and I have previously read them too, but I felt like reading them again.
I spent a substantial amount of my time this month watching movies. I don’t have a Netflix account but I think I watched more movies than anyone with a Netflix account. I specifically didn’t like Thor: Love And Thunder but I loved Beast. I loved the detailed description of Safari’s wildlife and the action too.
To be honest, I didn’t intend to read any book this month. If you’re fresh out of high school, you should know this is college application time or period. If you’re not, you should also know that. The point is, I am applying to a lot of colleges(just 3 actually) and I have been busy. I’ll probably draft another post soon about the colleges I am applying to and why I am applying to them.
College applications are stressful(everyone knows that). Sometimes, I think they are designed for the strong hearted. Because I simply do not understand why I have to spend two months applying to a school. Maybe because I am lazy or I don’t know!!!!!
I’m going to jump right into the books I read this month because I’m just going to keep writing if I don’t.
Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home.
Quote Of The Day
First Book: Catching Genesis

Like I said, old books! I don’t know why I read this book again. I simply can not explain why, even if I had a gun to my head. This is probably the seventh time I am reading Catching Genesis.
You know, I woke and I realized I had no mobile data. And I said “hey, I should have some books in my drive.” And that’s when I found it. Few pages into the book and I was smiling like a donkey.
However, I noticed a lot of things while reading this book again(for the seventh time.) NO EDITING, NO FORMATTING. LOTS OF GRAMMATICAL ERRORS. I probably didn’t notice these things while reading it for the first five times in high school. Obviously, I was so into wattpad books like everyone else.
A friend once said “you’ll grow up and realize that most wattpad books are cliche, poorly written and boring.” At that time, I was totally ready to take off her head. But it turns out that she was right after all. I personally have quit wattpad and I enjoy inspirational and motivational literature now. I also have a published book of poetry now and you can get that on Amazon.
If you haven’t read Catching Genesis, it’s a werewolf book. The story is basically about “Genesis” who is a werewolf and was rejected by her mate on her 18th year birthday(when they actually get to sense their mate). He was the Alpha in line of their pack and he saw her to be weak and unsuitable for him. Genesis was crushed as werewolves can barely survive without their mates. Fortunately, a lycan(most powerful breeds of werewolves) claimed her as his erasthai(just like a mate but with even a stronger bond). Then her mate came crawling back and he was rejected. Genesis and Constantine(the lycan) became a couple, marking and mating each other. The story brings their love story, past lives, trauma and pain to light. Although it was much more romantic when I read it in high school, I still think it’s a good book that will leave you smiling. It’s also the first book in a series.
Besides the grammatical errors, I think Nicole wrote this book in high school. The word choices are funny and immature. And hey, most great wattpad book were written by high school kids. So, no judgement! Overall, I think Catching Genesis is still a good book and I am definitely going to read the book 2 “Fighting Darius” next month.
Book Two: Diary Of A Wimpy Kid

Say whatever you want to say but I will still read and laugh to this book even when I am 160 years old. I personally downloaded this book online(I use Z library. They have a lot of great books for free and I know its wrong but I don’t have money to buy them on Amazon.) I read volume 1-5 and I want to read the next ones in October.
I recall thinking in high school that this book was written and published by a kid. Those stick drawings and illustrations are way funnier than the actual descriptions or story.
There’s a lot to learn from reading this book. I think Greg’s life is so similar to many teenagers in high school. Anyway, If you’re feeling nostalgic, you should buy and read this book. It brings back all the memories of high school and childhood.
Book Three: How Rich People Think

This book disappointed me. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a great book that highlights the differences between the normal class and rich people. But you know, I had huge expectations before reading this book. C’mon, it’s supposed to teach us how to be rich. I’ll start by saying that I expected to have so much money to buy a limo after reading the first chapter. The book blurb was so captivating and I dedicated my entire day to reading and discovering the secrets of rich people. Well, I don’t have a limo and I definitely don’t have more than $10 now. That’s it! I’m just so glad I didn’t buy it on Amazon. I would probably be crying till the end of the year.
Conclusion
If you have book recommendations, I will be happy to read them in the comments. I am hoping to read more books next months and review them all on my website.
Alsoooooo, If you haven’t embraced the habit of reading at least two books every month, you should work towards that. Reading is therapeutic. Books have the tendency to heal you and enrich your mind. You can learn a lot from reading a single book. So, make a decision today to read at least two books every month. It will change your life. I promise!!
All the best applying for college 🙂

I totally agree!
Most of Greg’s experiences are so relatable. I love the movie and the way it gives us a clear insight into their lives.
